Mi Home Temperature & Humidity E-Ink Clock
I needed something on the dining table to check the time, so I went with the Mi Home temperature and humidity e-ink clock.
The reasoning was simple: it looks good, and it’s supposedly E Ink, which is, like, insanely cool.

The clock itself looks nice, but the packaging is about as barebones as it gets — just the unit plus two accessories, a magnetic sticker and a stand, so you can prop it on a table or slap it on the fridge or a door with the magnet.
There aren’t many settings to speak of, but what surprised me is that this thing can actually connect to the Mi Home app! Bear in mind it has no Wi-Fi, only Bluetooth.

Turns out it uses your phone as a stepping stone: Bluetooth to the phone, phone to Wi-Fi, and from there into the Mi Home app.
Poking around the app, there isn’t much to it either — you can check the temperature log, and there’s an If-Else-style automation, e.g. when the temperature hits X, do Y.

Of course your phone has to be around for that. Without it you’d need the full Mi Home smart gateway setup… and at that price… only Wu Laoji could afford it.
All in all, as a clock, it’s fine.
Oh right, e-ink just looks good. Shame there’s no backlight.
