You’ve all seen it: the great Miboy vanguard a.k.a. the Twitter hearse boss himself, Wu Er Lao, bought three Mijia Bluetooth Thermometer 2s.

So I, as Wu Er Lao’s most devout follower, bought one too. Let’s see what this “marked down to 9 yuan” little thing is actually like.

Got it in hand and wow, this thing is tiny:

Used it for a bit and honestly it’s hard to describe. How do I put this… it’s a “Mijia temp-sensing electronic watch without an e-ink screen.”

Sure, it can do some automation through the “Mijia app,” but it has no Wi-Fi, only Bluetooth, so you probably need a gateway to close the loop.

That said, you can just stick it on the wall as a thermometer/hygrometer, or even wear it as a band or toss it in the car to monitor temperature. It’s 9 yuan — can’t buy cheap, can’t get scammed. No wonder the Wu Er Lao crowd won’t shut up about it.
