H-hey everyone... I'm not dead yet

Surgery was supposed to be at 9 a.m. the first day. But the hospital had some kind of circular meeting, so they didn’t bother telling me to come downstairs until noon.

Once I got down there, I was told to change clothes myself and wait there, another solid hour of being left on read.

No idea how long passed before someone called me over, had me lie on the bed inside, and started sticking tubes into me. Then some sleazy guy came over and said, “Come on, breathe in the oxygen!”

Oxygen my ass, that’s just anesthesia.

Then I don’t know how long passed before I came to, found myself parked in a corner of the operating room, and the sleazy guy said, ‘Alright then,’ and wheeled me away.

After a long stretch of being out cold, I realized it was already past 9 p.m. My parents told me the surgery only finished at 5, and that I couldn’t drink water until 11.

Endure! Endure! Endure! Endure! Endure!

11 o’clock hit. First time I discovered water could taste this good. Then I fell asleep.

Woke up again pretty quick. Checked the time: 1 a.m. The anesthetic had worn off by then, and my head started absolutely pounding, that feeling like something’s bursting inside my skull. Both nostrils were completely stuffed, couldn’t use my nose, had to breathe through my mouth, and combined with the throbbing headache there was just no way I was sleeping.

Somehow muddled through until 8 the next morning. The doctor did his rounds, smirked, and said, no worries, one more day, hang in there.

Hang in there my ass, I’m about to pass out from the pain here. They can’t take the gauze and sponges out of my nose until 3 p.m. tomorrow. I somehow survived the first night, but what the hell am I supposed to do about the second night!!1

It hurts so much. It hurts so damn much. I’m dying from the pain.
