Porting a conversation from the "Rural Rag" to Zhihu
Roadside Rag version:
Ergouzi: Oh man, Sangunzi, my bro, I heard you know a lot about this stuff. My old phone broke, right, and I wanna buy a new one. People say Samsung and that Apple thing are the good ones now. So give me some advice, yeah?
San Gunzi: Don’t worry, Ergouzi. The fact that you came to me means you trust me, and I’m gonna explain it straight. Buying a phone is actually simple—it’s just about how much you’re willing to spend, and whether you want a big screen. Apple phones are pretty idiot-proof to use, you know, like a point-and-shoot camera? And you don’t gotta worry about much. Samsung phones, a lot of businesspeople use ’em, mainly ‘cause the battery lasts. If you’re not short on cash, buy Apple. If you like big screens, or you’re a bit tight on money, then go Samsung. Trust your bro, you can’t go wrong~
Ergouzi: Wow Sanguzi, you’re a real expert. You made it crystal clear for me in one go. I’m not short on cash, and I don’t care about big screens, so I’ll buy Apple then. Thanks, I’ll buy you a drink later! Zhihu version
Two_doge: How does one correctly evaluate the differences between the latest flagship smartphones from “Apple” and “Samsung”? When consumers are faced with these two products, how should they go about choosing?
Triple_stickman: Thanks for the invite. This topic is actually discussed everywhere, and since the OP and I are friends, I’ll answer a bit more seriously. The latest flagships from Apple and Samsung are actually pretty similar in performance—they just target different user groups. Apple’s iPhone is more for consumer users who care more about User Experience and User Friendly, while Samsung’s Target Customers are mostly business-oriented people who Care about Screen size, plus a few Android Fans. Of course, more of them Prefer the Nexus Product line because it has pure Holo Design. Consumer choice is an eternal topic, and between Apple and Samsung flagships, if you Care more about User Friendly and have enough budget, Go with iPhone. And the other group, who lean toward Screen size, will naturally choose Samsung.
Two_doge: Thanks for the answer, learned a lot. And as a consumer, it made me understand my own position and choice—I’ll go with iPhone. The phone comparison content is bullshit
