My First Experience Buying CDs from Taiwan
Overseas shopping is nothing new—I’ve seen people buy from Japan, the US, and the UK, but rarely from Taiwan.
Some discs are only released in Taiwan, and there doesn’t seem to be a direct way to buy them; most people go through Taobao proxies, which is a real pain.
But there’s finally a way: I found Rock Records’ official online store, so at least I can buy albums from a lot of artists I like.
When ordering, it explicitly says it supports mainland China, and even supports Alipay payment—though I still used a credit card.

First impressions were just okay. It wasn’t as fast as buying from Japan—took over three weeks to arrive. The courier was something called Jin Yue Express, and their tracking site is awful. The package first went to Xiamen, then was handed off to Tiantian Express before reaching me.
Still, the items arrived fine. But the wait time is really just so-so—the two CDs I bought from Amazon UK last time took about the same.
I might consider collecting all of MC Hotdog’s discs in the future, though I don’t know if customs would seize them over banned songs. But does this courier even go through customs?
