TOMY Die-Cast Cars

A while back I saw BBM and that dumbass Takeshi in a Discord server talking about buying TOMY die-cast cars. Looked them up and turns out they’re not even expensive, so I grabbed a few.

Short version: the build quality is nothing special, but the paint job is shockingly good. Says Made in Vietnam too — wonder if the ones made in China also have paint that’s gone to shit.

I got a Honda FIT, a NISSAN GTR, a PORSCHE 911, and a TOYOTA 86. What I actually wanted was a Honda Vezel like my own car, but eBay didn’t seem to have one. Japan seems to stock it, but ordering just the one isn’t worth it. Maybe someday.

Also, TOMY die-cast cars — トミカ is a pretty well-known brand, and there’s a lot of different ways to enjoy them. Some models have opening doors and trunks; my Fit here has an opening trunk, and the GTR and 86 have opening doors.

Of course, in the end they just became desk ornaments. Proper high-end model cars are way too fucking expensive, so this is me settling for the cheap stuff.
