Living with OnePlus Sling Bag

OnePlus Sling Bag

Honestly, the OnePlus 3 doesn’t interest me much, even though foreigners keep hyping it up overseas like it’s the best thing ever—to the point where I wonder if they’re all getting paid. Fortunately, there’s still one Korean who keeps trashing the OnePlus 3, saying it doesn’t deserve the flagship title at all, and that he wouldn’t recommend buying it unless your budget is really tight. That guy raised my opinion of Koreans quite a bit.

But this isn’t about the OnePlus 3 phone—it’s about the OnePlus sling bag. Some of you might know that when the OnePlus 3 launched, they also released a OnePlus sling bag. It looked pretty nice, but the price was a bit steep. What’s even dumber is that the first batch apparently required an invite code. I heard the OnePlus backpack was impossible to buy before too…

I wasn’t planning to buy this thing originally. It’s just that a classmate wanted one, said he was a OnePlus fan, had two codes, and asked if I wanted one…

After much deliberation, I still ended up chopping off my hand.

I don’t know much about bags—most of the time they’re just tools to me—so I’ll just briefly share my impressions of this one.

  1. High recognition factor. At least when I walk around carrying this thing, plenty of people ask if I’m using a OnePlus phone, because they all recognize the OnePlus logo. That genuinely surprised me.

  2. Decent capacity. This bag holds quite a lot, looks fairly clean on the outside, and I personally like the blue color scheme. Though the laptop protection inside is a bit worse than Timbuk2 or whatever.

  3. The strap is too thin. This bag isn’t small, so I don’t understand why the strap is so thin… But since it attaches with buckles on both ends, you can swap it out however you like—just watch the color.

  4. Material is average—just ordinary canvas. I personally didn’t find any frayed edges or burrs, but the material honestly can’t be called anything special. In other words, the price isn’t really worth it.

Even though it’s a bit pricey, I personally think it looks okay. If there’s another downside, it’s that you can’t just buy it freely—oh right, that was the past. Now you can probably order directly from the official website.
