Imouto to Sono Yuujin ga Ero Sugite Ore no Kokan ga Yabai (妹とその友人がエロすぎて俺の股間がヤバイ) Review
A Game of Profound Educational Value
I was feeling pretty empty yesterday, then I saw an imouto game got a fan translation… and after looking it up, it seemed like the playtime was only an hour, so I figured I’d play it to relax.
The Chinese name is 《妹妹的朋友与我的日常》, but that translation is already off. The original is 《妹とその友人がエロすぎて俺の股間がヤバイ》, which should really be “My Sister and Her Friend Are So Fucking Horny That My Dick Is in Trouble.” Of course, a name that dirty probably got sanitized—daily life it is, I guess…
But as a fan-translated game that’s only an hour long, playing it was more exhausting than the fucking Japanese version. The whole thing felt like taking an exam…
I guess that’s where the “educational value” comes in…

The game is short but it still has a story: at the start, during a tutoring session, you choose whether to fuck your sister or her friend. After you pick, it’s just pounding, pounding, pounding, and then a final summary nut at the end, and that’s it. It’s actually pretty vanilla lovey-dovey stuff, and you can freely choose the scenes where you pound.

By the way, the CVs are one under a pseudonym of 小倉結衣 and ヒマリ. The former is especially, uh, practical. Of course, if you play this game I doubt you’ll be able to use it… not because it’s short, but for other reasons. If you happen to know a little Japanese, what awaits you is a full-on Japanese listening test.
Alright… exam starts now.

Right at the start, the first line hits me with a warning shot—the sentence itself isn’t even coherent… and it’s supposed to be a study session, so why does it say “learn from your brother”? I listened to it and the original is 勉強してもらう… so it should be “your brother tutors you,” right? Whatever, let’s not sweat the details…
But as the story progresses, the snark material keeps piling up…

Like being popular in the “classroom”…

ドキドキしてるの、わかります? Thump-thump, you know?
I got thumped right in the face lol

あたしのむねが おにいさんが好き好き大好きって、騒いて、ドキドキして、止まらないです
My chest is so noisy, did a fly get in there?

あのね、あたし、その、精液,精液が出て来るどころ、見たいなーって 普通見られないし、どうなてるかなーって
Hey… um… I wanna see the sperm… see the sperm coming out… I can’t normally see it, so I wonder how it comes out…
I can’t even be bothered to go through all the dialogue in this game…

I’m guessing the original was 出しやすい?

パイ釣り…

The “相性” (compatibility) up there—whatever makes you happy. And the line below, isn’t that supposed to be こちらこそ?

仕方ない、私がお兄ちゃんの、恋人になってあげてもいいよ
You’re the brother, and I’m what?

座りこち、悪いよ、そうな変なこと、あたってるよ、
あたってる can also mean “winning a prize,” I learned something.

What the hell is a mango??? まんこ? Oh, how fascinating~
Anyway, not long after the game started, I’d already stopped paying attention to the story and entered full “error correction” mode. This game’s translation had so many snark-worthy spots that halfway through roasting it, I remembered—wait, is this machine translated? Oh no, even machine translation should be better than this. Maybe it’s some ancient MT… without even a hint of human polishing. Anyone with basic language skills wouldn’t produce this…
So by the middle section, I’d completely stopped reading the subtitles, just straining my ears to the voice acting to figure out the original line, then comparing with the Chinese to see if it was wrong. But the sad part is, aside from “Ahhh ahhh ohhh ohhh I’m coming ahhh” being correct, pretty much everything else had some error. There were also plenty of wildly off sentences in the dialogue. Of course, there’s no point in saying all this—who the fuck reads the story in a one-hour Chinese nukige, right? Besides, the story itself can be summed up in two sentences. No, actually the title says it all—even if the fan translation didn’t translate the title correctly.
Personally, I don’t like to criticize fan translation groups. Translating is a personal hobby, they take on pressure, and whether it’s good or not, nobody’s paying them—it’s volunteer work. If you like it, play it; if not, don’t…
But this game had me sweating buckets and really opened my eyes. It was exactly like a listening test with no subtitles, writing out every sentence from start to finish… and translating it too.
Oh, what a game of profound educational value. Japanese learning has found a new path.
By the way, I hear a lot of fan translation groups have been grinding hard lately. I just think getting the general meaning right is still pretty important, you know? You can’t have the sister calling herself the brother—even machine translation doesn’t make that mistake.
