I’m tired of saying whether LASS should just die already…

I’m a bit conflicted. On one hand I want it to croak pronto, on the other I still think it should at least finish Liber 7 before kicking the bucket.

Anyway, for now it’s better if it doesn’t die.

So this “won’t-die-when-you-want-it-to” LASS has a new game out, and it’s a sequel to that old nukige series.

Turbulent Snow, Moon, and Flower Moonlit Lewd Dance, Oath of Madness

Remember the previous game? Turbulent Snow, Moon, and Flower Fleeting Scattered Fine Snow. That one already had an ending, really—one of the brothers fell off a cliff, and the other even visited his grave (though I can’t remember who fell and who didn’t). So I’ve always wondered what a sequel could possibly say… Then I saw a new character, and thought, are they just brute-forcing more life into this?

So I played it, and holy shit, it’s literally the previous game’s解密—wait, I mean it explains the previous game’s plot. You can read my review of the previous game for the story, but basically two ninja brothers fight over who becomes head of the family, one dies, one lives.

In the previous game it wasn’t explicitly stated that the older brother found out he was being cuckolded; he just started treating his female ninja partner roughly, with all sorts of training. So the sequel shows the older brother’s perspective. He used to have a great relationship with his female ninja partner, almost lovers, but one day he goes for a checkup and finds out he’s got dead sperm, low sperm, no sperm…

According to the rules of their Kusanagi family, the head ninja has to produce children. If you’re infertile, you definitely can’t become the head…

So the older brother is in agony. Then a female fortune teller shows up in town, claiming she can help him, but he doesn’t give a shit. This fortune teller starts acting on her own, drugs and mind-controls the older brother’s female ninja partner, makes her sleep with the younger brother, and deliberately lets the older brother see it.

The older brother just found out he’s infertile during the day, and at night he sees his woman fucking his brother—he instantly loses it.

And that’s how the cruel training of the female partner from the previous game came about, and how that sad ending came to be (well, people died, so of course it’s sad).

So this sequel is actually kind of interesting—it explains the previous game. I was almost touched by LASS…

But then the story turns: the older brother fell off the cliff but didn’t actually die; he was saved by that fortune teller. She says her name is Mamiya Rurika, and she’s actually the older brother’s fiancée. She asks if he wants revenge, if he wants to punish that little bitch of a female ninja. The older brother saw his ninja with his brother, he’s got dead sperm and no chance at becoming head, he’s furious, so he tacitly agrees.

Then comes a long stretch of training content… I can’t really remember the middle part with all the dick chaos and fucking each other, because I was playing Dota 2 on the side.

And Rurika doesn’t just train the older brother’s attendant ninja; she goes out herself to mess with the younger brother, and ultimately wants revenge, to do something big.

The ending, naturally, is that the scheme gets foiled…

There are a few choices in the game that determine whether you go down Rurika’s route. In her route, Rurika gets driven off by the younger and older brothers, gives up on revenge, and the older brother becomes the head. At the end, Rurika appears again, holding the older brother’s child and smiling.

If you don’t go down Rurika’s route, you can go down other heroines’ routes, including getting together with the original female ninja, or with a female classmate… The story isn’t anything special; it just suddenly pivots and you end up with someone.

Although the sequel focuses more on the older brother, the ending is still centered on the younger brother.

The younger brother finally says he gives up the fight for head of the family and is willing to hand the position to the older brother. The older brother is puzzled—he’s infertile, what’s he supposed to do?

Just then, the older brother’s female partner ninja turns up pregnant, and the child might be the younger brother’s…

They just roll with it. The older brother puts on the green hat and becomes the head.

Happy end! A green Happy End!!

As the second entry in LASS’s nukige series, this should be the training series. This game is even cheaper than the first one. In the first game, the older and younger brothers had different perspectives and still had voice acting; in the second game, all male voice acting is gone. Not a single one! Only three women have voices, and it still uses all the background art from Shoujo Shin’iki and the same music. Saving every penny, can’t cut any more.

Whatever, do what you want. I’ve complained twice already, and this time I can’t even get it up to complain…

Anyway, LASS, just finish Liber 7 before you die.

I feel like even though I haven’t played the game yet, I’ve already got about 800 words of ranting formed in my head.
