Upgrading to Rhythmbox 3.4 on Ubuntu 16.04

Rhythmbox 3.4 is out, and you should upgrade.
Plenty of reasons, but one matters more than the rest: it fixes the memory leak…

Before, listening for too long would blow up memory usage. Not anymore — at least I haven’t hit it since upgrading.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:fossfreedom/rhythmbox sudo apt-get update sudo apt full-upgrade
Sometimes the update just doesn’t take. If so, try this:
sudo apt-get purge rhythmbox rhythmbox-plugins rhythmbox-data librhythmbox-core10
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install rhythmbox
