I backed the GPD WIN on Indiegogo and six months later it's actually kind of cool

I’m an Indiegogo backer. There’s a lot of story behind this thing, and I’ll get into it properly some other time.

1. Build quality is better than the JD.com version once it actually arrives.
2. Performance is way better than I expected — plenty of games run, provided you use Steam Big Picture mode.
3. The dual-stick mouse mode is weirdly great once you get used to it. I figure the touchscreen is mostly unnecessary now.
4. The resolution is too low, which sucks. A lot of eroge can’t go fullscreen because the resolution is some bizarre number nothing supports.
5. Stick support in shooters mostly comes down to XInput, since this thing emulates an Xbox pad anyway.
6. Battery life is obviously not going to survive big titles. I played Medal of Honor 2010 for a bit and the remaining time dropped to two hours.
7. Full keyboard is a plus. Better to have it than not.
8. It’s very portable. Credit where it’s due.
