I Got on the Phicomm Router Train and Ripped Off ¥40 from JD
At the end of last year, JD had the Phicomm K2 router on special — coupons stacked, so the lowest price came out to 359 yuan.
But don’t forget, the cashback was still calculated on the 399 yuan sticker price. Broke and unable to afford gas, I spotted a way to make money and placed the order.

The router arrived without a hitch. Someone at work had already gotten on the same train, and I’d flashed a K2 router for him before, so I figured I’d run the same play again…
And then I fucked up. Turns out the new K2 revision can’t just be upgraded blindly — especially the V22 firmware, where they patched the hole…
There’s still a new method though, see here: http://www.right.com.cn/forum/thread-191833-1-1.html
Pretty simple, honestly…
After configuring everything, the automatic proxy for those sites still worked, so I set up a proxy AP at the office. Feels a bit more stable than the old firmware? Or maybe that’s just the placebo effect.

How the train works: you scan a QR code on the card bundled with the router to install a domestic finance app, activate it, wait a month, then withdraw. I got off the train safely and made 40 yuan…
Thinking about it, it really is a pain in the ass… but hey, profit is profit. If the finance app is on Android, you can lock it in the freezer after activation and just pull it out when you need to withdraw, then delete it.
