RhinoShield Bumper Case
RhinoShield Bumper Case for Nexus 6P
I’d been using the official Live Case from Google on my Nexus 6P the whole time, and honestly I was pretty happy with it — except it was sometimes slippery as a bar of soap.
The Live Case has its shortcomings, though: the top and bottom aren’t protected. If you, like me, sometimes shove the phone into the car’s phone slot, you’ll find out where the problem is — the edges get dinged up easily.
So I decided to swap cases, but I didn’t know what to get. Then I saw people on XDA recommending this thing… They call it a Bumper.

Meaning this thing only protects the frame, not the back. The funny part is that back protection can come from a DBrand skin.

RhinoShield is quite confident about this Bumper. They say that even without back protection, this frame alone is enough for drops on flat ground, and there are plenty of videos showing just how tough the thing is. Their bragging didn’t really interest me, though — I just saw the official store was running a sale with free shipping, so I bought one to see how it goes.

The interesting bit: buying this from the RhinoShield store, it ships from Taiwan, and thanks to that, the Chinese address I wrote in the shipping field displayed properly, which made receiving it a lot easier.
After it arrived, it felt about as expected — just a frame. But the frame is solid, with ridges inside that probably act as cushioning. It fits pretty tightly after putting it on. Maybe because of the glass screen protector, the power button area doesn’t sit quite flush, but it’s not a big deal. Perfectionists might mind.

The back has a DBrand skin, so that’s fine.
Overall it’s decent. Hope it lasts. As for the unprotected back — the likely reason is that if it falls onto something sharp, it’s done for.
