I’m not an NTR fan and I honestly can’t wrap my head around how NTR fans think. Still, Japanese eroge are packed with NTR subject matter, for better or worse.

NTR here doesn’t mean what grade-schoolers mean by “the girl you like doesn’t like you, she likes someone else.” It’s 寝取る — and the meaning is simple: your wife, your spouse, your lover, your girlfriend got slept with by someone else.

Put plainly, you got cuckolded. Even if you’ve spent years lurking Reddit, ACFUN, the greening street, and the Thunder Bluff of 5ch, I’ve never once seen a guy discover he’s been cuckolded and feel happy about it. So yeah, the NTR fan mindset is hard to get.

And yet NTR games keep coming out. Plenty of companies make them, some even set up a dedicated brand just for NTR titles to chase that specialist credibility.

Like this one, Houkago ni Midareru Ane Kyoushi to Tonari no Heya de Aegu Imouto (放課後に乱れる姉教師と隣の部屋で喘ぐ妹 ～恋人になった女の子が、知り合いの嫌な男に寝取られる～), which bills itself as a standard NTR game.

The title is long, but look at the kanji and it’s obvious. “The older sister teacher who gets ravished after school and the little sister moaning in the next room — the girl who became your lover gets taken to bed by a disgusting guy she knows.” The title basically spells out the premise, and the game’s content really is exactly that: the protagonist’s father remarries, so he gains a new older sister and younger sister. The older one is the art teacher at his school, the younger one is his classmate, and he ends up living with both sisters. Then the parents go off on a trip, leaving just the three of them in the house. That’s where the story starts.

Three heroines can be conquered by other men: the older sister (the art teacher) Aizawa Haruka, the younger sister Aizawa Yuuka, and one white-haired girl named Usami Akari. The white-haired one is the childhood friend, I think — you meet her at some shop.

Note I said “three heroines conquered by other men.” In other words, whoever you pick… gets you cuckolded.

Start with the older sister. At some point the protagonist confesses to her. She’s a teacher, so even though she likes him, she figures a teacher and student can’t do anything yet, and tells him to wait until graduation — if he still likes her then, they can date.

Then at school, the older sister gets dragged off drinking by a colleague… a muscular PE teacher. She drinks too much, gets hauled home, and gets raped. The next day she finds the PE teacher acting like nothing happened, so she decides to have it out with him. And when she does, she gets lured to his place again. The PE teacher threatens her — he’s figured out the relationship between the art teacher and the student (the protagonist). A teacher-student romance going public at school would be bad, so he blackmails her. So she gives in and keeps getting screwed good.

After that, every day after school the protagonist wants to walk home with his sister (the female teacher), but she always says she’s too busy with work and tells him to go on ahead. She even says students shouldn’t come to a teacher’s place, and won’t let him visit. In reality she’s banging the PE teacher every day, and after enough of that, feelings develop. The sister starts enjoying it enough that she can’t quite leave the PE teacher. So she lies to the protagonist more and more. Then one day he gets home a little early and sees the PE teacher coming out of the art teacher’s place — and they’re making out, tongues and all…

The protagonist gets it. He stops going to school, stops bothering with his sister. She’s confused at first, then figures it out — he probably saw her and the PE teacher. But so what? She can’t leave the PE teacher’s dick anymore. She gives up completely, and that’s that…

So what’s the little sister route? Some thug shows up at the protagonist’s house claiming to be a relative who needs to stay a while, saying he’ll protect them in place of the parents…

In reality he’s just a thug.

So after the little sister starts dating the protagonist, the thug hears about it and gives her an AV. She watches it out of curiosity and starts touching herself. The thug peeps on her, walks right in, and rapes her.

Then the little sister begs the thug not to tell anyone. The result, as you’d expect: not telling means getting blackmailed into a round whenever he wants. There’s an option here too: the protagonist sees the little sister coming out of a love hotel with the thug, wants to ask but feels awkward, so he goes to his older sister instead. He goes to her, and she gives him a boob-hug to comfort him. The thug secretly photographs it and sends it to the little sister. She sees it and thinks, “Oh, so you’re fooling around with our sister too.” So she starts screwing the thug on purpose out of spite, and even helps him drug their older sister and drag her into it.

In the end, the protagonist opens his computer at home and finds a video — a recording the thug made for him, of himself with both sisters at once. He announces that next time there won’t be any recording; he’ll just livestream it.

The protagonist is devastated, but he still gets hard watching the video…

And so our great protagonist comes up with… victory-in-the-mind copium!

“I never did anything with either of them from the start, so if someone else did, it’s not like I got cuckolded, right?”

Strong! Unbeatable!

Oh right, and that white-haired childhood friend? That one’s simpler: you’re close with her, then she gets taken to bed by the manager of the shop where she works.

I can’t even be bothered to roast the manager. He looks way too much like a fattened-up Ao Changzhang.

So strictly speaking, I don’t think this game counts as an NTR game at all, because it’s missing too many things an NTR game needs.

First, the protagonist only confesses verbally, and she only verbally agrees. Their relationship basically doesn’t progress, and the two never actually have sex (they did oral before, but that was before the confession). The female teacher especially never agreed to anything, so when she goes and does it with someone else, the protagonist hasn’t really been cuckolded, let alone NTR’d.

It also completely lacks the thrill of NTR. Most of the time the heroines are just forcibly screwed, and after enough of it they fall in love with the guy. The process takes two lines, with no detail and no psychological angle — dozens of tiers below Shaofu Baijie, honestly. And the protagonist spends half the game in the dark; when he finally learns the truth, he just wilts and quietly bows out, and the game ends… What kind of NTR is this? Look at what other NTR games have.

Most of them have the protagonist discover he’s been cuckolded, get shocked, then feel some inexplicable arousal. He suffers back and forth in the contradiction between feeling sinful and being unable to resist some impulse inside him. In the end he either falls and drowns in pleasure or breaks free and finds redemption. That’s the standard NTR game formula. This game’s content is honestly worse than a cuckold thread on 5ch — it’s just the protagonist getting dumped. There’s none of the classic scenes like “the heroine keeps calling the protagonist while getting screwed by another guy” or “the protagonist jerks off while watching his woman get screwed.” There’s no NTR atmosphere at all!

And even setting aside the fundamental flaws, the game’s quality isn’t there either. The art and CGs break down all over the place, the HCG presentation lacks punch, there’s no E-mote or any animation, no countdown either. And stupidest of all, the BGM is mismatched — during nipple play they play slapping sounds. The sound is just wrong. Most of the soundtrack is only three tracks, the HCG music is noisy, and the dialogue itself is moronic. The heroines hit IQ rock bottom in plenty of places. Of the three random men who sleep with the heroines, only the thug is somewhat handsome; the rest are what the hell — the Ao Changzhang manager and that PE teacher who looks like a total idiot.

The absolute worst part: none of the other male side characters have voices. No voice, so what? Are you expecting the player to self-insert? If you self-insert, what kind of NTR is that? Even the heroine CV work is bad, except for the older sister teacher’s CV, Aoi Haru.

You might not know who Aoi Haru is, but you probably know Akino Hana. This is Akino Hana’s alias for nukige. I have to say, this is a rare onee-san voice from her — really lovely, really gentle. Personally I think it might be the closest to her real voice.

When it comes down to it, the only thing this game has going for it is Akino Hana’s voice work. Everything else is nothing. I looked it up: the company is a brand under Willplus. I have to say, Willplus has shit for brains. Aside from pulltop, which does fine, the rest are trash. ensemble gets by on art style and formula. Willplus’s overseas moe-game label focuses on Steam, and then got savaged for self-censoring too hard over the airplane thing. They put out pulltop latte to go for moe-nuki, and that didn’t work either. Thinking it over, it’s just awkward all around.

All in all, for Houkago ni Midareru Ane Kyoushi to Tonari no Heya de Aegu Imouto (放課後に乱れる姉教師と隣の部屋で喘ぐ妹 ～恋人になった女の子が、知り合いの嫌な男に寝取られる～), I’d personally give it 30 points. 29 of those go to Akino Hana, and the rest together maybe one point. I’m not an NTR fan and I don’t get how NTR fans think, but this game just doesn’t qualify as a proper NTR game no matter how you look at it. Even copying someone else’s NTR game, you couldn’t make it this bad. The dev team really is painful to watch, seriously.
