Cheese Korokke
Saw a recipe on YouTube a while back, figured I’d give it a shot.

Turns out it’s a massive pain in the ass to actually make.
First up, the ground beef. Holy shit beef is expensive. Is this the price of eating halal?

Then you stir-fry the onion and ground beef.

Meanwhile, chop up the potatoes and start boiling them…

Finally, mash them into mashed potatoes. Toss all that stuff in and stir-fry it, add salt and black pepper.
Then roll them into little sweet-potato-sized balls and stuff a ball of cheese inside. Except cheese isn’t that easy to ball up. If you really can’t get it in, just dig a hole and shove it in…

Last step: cake flour -> beaten egg -> breadcrumbs -> into the oil.
The oil temperature has to be low. Better too low than too high. A big pot of oil would probably give the best results, but… who the hell has a pot that big?
Final thoughts:
- Tastes good, actually pretty tasty, it’s savory — I just have no idea what any of this has to do with “cola.”
- The deep-frying step has way too many requirements. Getting the result shown in the video is pretty hard.
- Deep-frying or not, there’s not much difference… honestly, I feel like you could skip the cheese too…
