The Hot-Blooded Formula Never Gets Old

Back in high school I used to frequent a site called “Huanhuan Wenyuan”—basically the text-only version of a porn site, with dirty stories updated on the regular.

That site kept going until I graduated college, then it vanished. Never came back.

There were some genuinely good pieces on there, well-written enough to get your imagination going. The one I remember most was about a female teacher who promised her class that if the slackers all ranked near the top of the grade, she’d let them have their way with her.

The writing was actually pretty interesting—the teacher goes through all these psychological hurdles, and when faced with the principal’s coercion she ends up choosing to give herself to the students instead. The ending was a bit unexpected, almost had a Happy Ending vibe.

Anyway, I’m getting off track. But some formulas really do deliver results you wouldn’t expect—like this game, PacoMane: Watashi, Kyou kara Meimon Yakyuubu no Seishori Gakari ni Narimasu… (パコマネ わたし、今日から名門野球部の性処理係になります…).

This game comes from frill. Funny enough, frill is under the same parent company as Key—so you could say they’ve got pedigree and backing, even if everything they put out is a nukige.

A lot of frill’s older stuff is actually pretty classic, like Seishoujo and the later Enkou Shoujo. After that though, things got rough—Kanojo ga Damasarete Yaritai Houdai ni Tsurekomareru Game was just lazy. Going by the title, I figured this one would be the same tired formula: schoolgirl becomes baseball team manager, ends up as a cum dump…

Boy, was I wrong.

This game is way more thoughtful than I expected. And the writing is… dead serious.

So the story: the heroine, Inami Saki, gets drawn in by the baseball team’s fiery spirit during entrance ceremonies, then gets invited by the senior manager, Kurimiya Nozomi, to join as the new manager. Together they lead the team to victory.

The plot splits into two parts. One is about the heroine’s passion for baseball—she starts out knowing nothing about the sport, and her gradual transformation into a proper manager is handled pretty smoothly. Even her interview to join the team is played totally straight, full of hot-blooded enthusiasm. Her disappointment after a loss gets its due too.

The other part is the nukige stuff… After joining, she’s surrounded by dudes jerking off to porn and whatnot. At first she’s embarrassed, but with the senior manager’s guidance she gets used to it, starts lending a hand—literally—to some of the players, and eventually offers herself to cheer up the ones who are feeling down…

And through all this, the heroine never actually becomes a cum dump. She maintains a… harmonious… loving? sense of team unity with the players.

Basically, if some player’s looking glum, she goes over and gives him a good time, and once he’s energized he gets back to practice and performs well in games… That’s the formula.

And she keeps getting encouragement from her senior, who tells her that a female manager’s job is to support the players, be their backbone—including taking care of their physical needs.

“Before I became manager, the one before me did the same thing, and I did it too…”

So the heroine carries on the tradition as her successor. It’s a legacy, I guess…

Sometimes I feel like this whole setup is forced. Without the sex scenes, the heroine’s own hot-blooded drive would be enough to carry the story. But it’s a nukige, so they had to write it this way—no other choice, really. That’s the only way I can make sense of it.

The production values are solid. The BGM is all variations on the theme song, and the OP is actually a banger—by nao. The heroine’s CV is everyone’s favorite Nogami Natsuki, and she’s nice and soft. But the best part is the presentation: the speech bubbles make it look like a “manga in motion.” That was already a hallmark back in Seishoujo, and I’m glad frill picked it up again.

At the end, the former manager gives the heroine a heartfelt talk—she’s graduating and retiring, so she wants the heroine to be able to support the team on her own. That means she won’t be there for the final match. And naturally, after a hard-fought battle and the heroine and players working together, they win the championship.

So yeah… this game is pretty by-the-numbers. It’s your typical “newbie gets passionate about something, joins up, becomes a pro” growth story—except the heroine’s journey to becoming an elite manager and leading the team to victory involves fucking the players to keep them motivated.

The sex isn’t the core, right? Hot-blooded passion and growth are. The game does write it that way—it’s just that the title sets a certain tone, and that tone is low.

The game didn’t have to be this low. But with a title like that, what can you do.
