Sony DK60 Charging Dock

Back when I used the Xperia Z1, I remember the charging dock came in the box.

Then the Xperia XZ Premium rolls around and it’s not included anymore… you have to buy it yourself.

It was pricey, and the kicker is that all you get is the dock and a few spacers to adjust the width. Nothing else.

Yep, not even a charging brick. Supply your own charger and USB Type-C cable.

What a ripoff.

That said, it works well. Even with a case on, you can still charge with this thing—there are several sizes to choose from inside.

Also worth praising: the Xperia XZ Premium’s charging has some smart features. If you plug in at 11 PM, for example, it figures you’ll probably be charging overnight, so it switches to slow charging and aims to have the battery full around 6 AM the next morning to protect it.

Sony did something kind of interesting there, even if it feels a bit pointless in practice.
