Wagamama High Spec OC (ワガママハイスペックOC) Review
You Need Good Silicon to Overclock
Wagamama High Spec (ワガママハイスペック) did pretty well for itself last year. It even got a short-form anime, and a way better one than that princess stray cat got — word is the latter ran out of money entirely. And when a game sells, a sequel is inevitable.
So Madsoft sat on it for nearly a year and put out Wagamama High Spec OC.
At first I assumed it was a sequel, and Madsoft’s own copy sort of implies that. In this “sequel,” the class rep who wasn’t a route before, April 1st Kanade, the protagonist’s editor-in-charge Takatsukasa Chitose, and his homeroom teacher Iwakuma Yukari all get promoted to heroines — while the original cast stays available too.

No trial version. Straight to the full release.
Which made me wonder — is this just a fandisk? Then I saw the price. Nearly 10,000 yen. You can’t be that brazen.
Booted it up. Holy shit. It’s a fandisk.
There’s no main story. You pick a heroine from the start and that’s her story. No branches beyond where to shoot — inside, outside, or both.

Obviously I went straight for the class rep. It’s Eriko Nakamura! And in the main game the class rep was already so hot— I mean, so cute!
Her route is genuinely fun. The protagonist finds out she missed a day, supposedly sick, and the teacher asks him to check on her.

Turns out she’s not sick — her little sister is, and she has to stay home looking after her.
So the protagonist starts sucking up, helping her take care of the two little sisters.

He’s over there so often that his own sister Uta gets suspicious. Her brother won’t come home to cook for her, but he’s out gallivanting somewhere. She has her best friend investigate, and the findings are explosive: he’s seeing the class rep every day, and he keeps buying kids’ supplies. That’s a headline.

She storms out to confront him, and — oh. He was just helping with the class rep’s sisters.
She’s still jealous, but she caves in the end.

From there he just keeps up the arrangement with the class rep, no confession or anything, until one day his buddies drag him into peeping on the swim club changing room. They get caught, and while they’re running, the class rep sees him.

She goes full little-devil on him: he and his friends have to help her rehearse a puppet show for the kindergarten, because her sisters are going to watch, and if they refuse… she’ll report them for peeping.

During rehearsal he’s the prince and she’s the princess, and there’s a confession line. Every time she says it she gets flustered. His friend notices, puts two and two together about their relationship, and a scheme forms.

The day before the show, he tells her the protagonist is going to use the performance’s dialogue to confess to her for real.

She already likes him, so this sends her into a panic. On the day, he delivers the line, she goes completely red, her sisters below egg her on, and he confesses. (Feels a bit sudden, but whatever — it’s the class rep, that’s enough.)

Then she goes full tsundere, and it’s sweet dating days from there.
The scenes are great, including his sister’s jealousy.
“What do you want with the student council? They don’t hand out marriage licenses, you know?” “Oh, not marriage? Divorce, then? Better to divorce early, less damage that way.”

You get a deeper read on her personality: intensely jealous, but she loves him just as intensely, with a mischievous streak and a gentle side. She and his brother-obsessed sister even PVP each other. Great stuff.

Most importantly, she’s completely insatiable… I know that’s just so they can cram in HCGs, but Nakamura plays it so hot. I can’t help myself.

The ending has the protagonist formally asking her father for her hand, which basically earns the relationship’s blessing.

Next, the little sister Uta’s route. Hers is purely about her jealousy and childishness.
The protagonist writes disposable light novels, and his sister runs his Twitter account. One day she gets mad at him and accidentally leaks his real identity, which causes a pile of trouble.

She’s even more willful than before and an absolute jealousy machine — she’s pinching him at every opportunity. In the end, with everyone’s support, the siblings get together, and he keeps accepting her tantrums the whole way. A fine Japanese big brother.
And since they’re already a couple at the start here, the story is mostly just flirting, not much plot. When she acts up, he uses his big dick to make her behave… porny and violent, but that fits an FD.

It ends with the two exchanging gifts: she gets taken care of, and he gets a birthday celebration from her. A happy ending, I guess. Compared to the somewhat heavy developments in the main game, this is mostly sugar.

Rokusho Kaoruko, voiced by Mariko Honda — no wait, Ms. Mariko Hongo — is supposed to be the game’s main heroine, but her Afterstory is the least interesting.

Her parents don’t approve of her illustration work, so she’s been hyping the protagonist up to them as a great literary master, bragging that their daughter is marrying a genius author. Now they want to come verify, and she panics.

So she scrambles to make him look like a proper man of letters, dragging him to a writerly country apartment in the suburbs. It accomplishes nothing except making him miss his deadlines.
Naturally her editor sets her straight: “He’s been writing light novels seriously this whole time, and you think drawing erotic art for light novels is beneath you? How can you say that?”

So Kaoruko decides to love the job she’s in, and they keep going as a married-couple light novel duo. Story over.

Most of this story is about how they bang in a suburban cohabitation setup… Not much actually happens, though the sister’s snark about light novels lands perfectly.
Light novels = porn.

So how do I rate this FD?
After finishing it, I’ll say this: only the class rep got into my heart. The other routes are too short, too shallow, too clichéd, and mostly there to serve the HCGs.
Only the class rep’s moaning made me feel the pulse of life.
Nakamura-sama really is a star of the eroge world — and worthy of my blog’s icon tribute.
Even better, the class rep still shamelessly flirts with the protagonist in the other routes. Like this birthday gift:

“I didn’t get you anything for your birthday. How about a kiss on the cheek?”
In short, even if this is a cash-grab FD, the class rep alone makes the ticket price worth it.
The “OC” in Wagamama High Spec OC stands for Overclock.
Which tells you exactly what this release is: squeeze more out of the original hardware with a bit of new content. Still, being able to overclock proves the silicon’s good.
And the class rep performing at this level proves that her not getting a route in the main game was just a matter of good stock.

Ah, the class rep is just the best!!
