Surface Pro 4 Repair Log
When I bought my Surface Pro 4, it already had a pretty bad screen-lifting problem. The build quality on everything back then seemed shaky, so I figured I’d just wait until the warranty was almost up and send it in.
And wow, time flies. Two years gone, just like that.

The repair was not exactly smooth. I contacted support and they told me the lifted screen didn’t qualify for repair since the display itself was fine. But as it happened, my screen had a small bright spot when showing pure black, so I took a photo and called it a display defect. The spot didn’t actually affect anything.
Once they saw the screen issue, they said fine, send it in, and added that they’d note the “screen lifting” problem too.
FedEx came to pick it up, and a week later the package came back.

Looking closely, it was the same machine — they’d only swapped the screen. The lifting was gone, so it’s more or less perfect now.
The system had been wiped, so I had to reinstall everything myself. While updating, I saw something that burned my eyes:

Finally I applied the dBrand skin I’d bought long ago. Done — back in service.
