I built a softbox for 10 yuan...

Grabbed a box, cut a few holes in it, slapped some A4 paper over them, spent 10 yuan at the local market on a roll of photography backdrop paper, and boom — a softbox. So I just messed around taking phone pics…

A few takeaways:

1 You need more desk lamps. It was the middle of the night and I couldn’t be bothered, so I only used one light on top — way too dim. 2 Need a bigger box for the DIY. This one’s too small and shooting in it was a pain. 3 Next time I’ve gotta wipe the backdrop paper clean before shooting. 4 And after wiping the backdrop, I should probably wash the figures too… they’re all dusty. 5 The Nexus 6’s macro autofocus is a real pain in the ass.
