Repairing the Xiaomi Hybrid Pro Earphones
The Xiaomi Hybrid Pro earphones are a solid pick.
I mean, they’re genuinely great — as long as you don’t use them for music.
Mine mostly get used for WeChat voice calls, gaming on the tablet, listening to crosstalk routines, that sort of thing. But lately I’ve noticed a bad connection, and the mic keeps dying on me…
Normally I’d just buy another pair, but I’m flat broke this time. Not like Zhu, who’s loaded. So what do I do? Then I remembered these things come with a one-year warranty. Why not try the after-sales route?
You can file a claim on Xiaomi’s official site. Since I bought mine there, I just submitted it straight from the order page. The claim needed approval, so I waited two days, figured they’d shoot it down, and then they actually approved it.

Once it’s approved you have to mail it in yourself, SF Express collect — they don’t want you paying the shipping. Turns out I was mailing it locally, right here in Zhengzhou…
The next day I got a text saying the return had been signed for, then another text saying they’d swapped it for a new one…
And then…

Gotta hand it to Xiaomi, the after-sales is decent — up there with JD.
A few caveats though. First, you have to have bought it from the official site; buy it on Taobao and you’re probably out of luck.
Second, you probably need the full packaging for the return. I happened to keep the box — if all you’ve got left is the earphones themselves, good luck.
