Living with Logitech T650 Touchpad

"Repairing" a Shattered Logitech T650 Touchpad

I have a Logitech T650 touchpad, but I bought it 4 years ago.

Recently I dug it out on a whim. It still works fine, honestly — but that’s exactly when you get cocky and drop the thing…

It’s got a three-year warranty, but mine was clearly user damage, and the warranty expired long ago anyway. I’m also now convinced the surface really is glass — cracked, but still works. Throwing it out felt wasteful… so I figured I’d try to save it.

That’s when I remembered a D2D YouTuber who said his iPhone X screen had shattered and he fixed it by slapping a dbrand skin on it. Worth a shot.

I found a ThinkPad A-cover sticker, matte finish, which is actually right for a touchpad. Cut it out and stuck it on.

Grabbed a sharp utility knife and trimmed the excess along the edges. That’s basically how you DIY device skins anyway — you don’t need a manufacturer, just do it yourself. Cutouts, though, those are still beyond me.

And here’s the finished product. Looks pretty good.

No more dropping it next time.
