IQUNIX Headphone Stand

No idea when I bought this thing. Pretty sure it was a long time ago. Found it again recently, so I cracked it open and put it to use.

Good timing too, since I’ve moved and finally have room for it.

Replacing the Battery in My LG Watch Sports

I’ve been using the LG Watch Sports for over two years now. Had it repaired once along the way, but lately the battery’s been getting noticeably worse.

So I figured I’d swap the battery. Taobao sells replacements, and there are YouTube tutorials for doing it yourself, but the whole process looked way too damn brutal.

While I was on the fence, I noticed the Taobao seller offering the batteries also does installation for you. Price wasn’t bad either — 100 yuan for the new battery plus the swap — so I decided to give it a shot.

The Android figures I picked up on Xianyu

Today should be the day Android 10 drops, and my own dear child might get the upgrade too.

So let’s use the occasion to show off the Android figures I picked up on Xianyu.

The seller didn’t say where they came from. Just that he had a big pile of them sitting around, wouldn’t claim they were genuine or bootleg, only that buying in bulk gets you a better price, and that you should buy if you trust him.

The price wasn’t bad, so I bought some.

I bought 8, and the seller tossed in two extra since I paid without fussing.

Kyōka - "Mekurumerukume"

Kyōka: visual novel voice actress, apparently.

That’s not me saying it, that’s her.

She bills herself as a galgame voice actress, but I’ve run into very few of the roles she’s actually played. The most famous are probably Hana Kana Hanahira

She’s billed as a galgame voice actress, but I’ve run into surprisingly few roles she’s actually played. The big ones are probably Hana Kana, Otomedomain, and more recently Tamayura Mirai. She also does bit parts in a bunch of games, and even in those she left an impression on me.

Why’d she leave an impression? Because I genuinely have no idea what her voice sounds like.

Every character she plays has a different voice, and the drama CDs she’s on use the voices of those characters, so there’s no way to tell what her real voice is like. And from what I know of voice actors, being able to do that only means one thing: she’s just that good.

That good, and all she gets is bit parts. Kind of rough.

She’s also got a hobby: singing. She actually went and released her own album, Mekurumerukume. I bought a copy, and I’ve been listening to it for over half a year now. Two words: goated.

Probably the best singer I’ve heard among galgame voice actresses — and no, Nanjō and Sakakibara don’t count.

Mi Home Shaver

After moving, I didn’t have a shaver at the new place, so I threw one in to round out an order.

I’d been using a Braun shaver I’d bought from Japan, so this was my first time buying anything from Xiaomi.

Review: Mijia Under-Sink Water Purifier

Xiaomi had a sale a while back, so I picked up this water purifier for a little over 1000 yuan, with six months of interest-free installments thrown in.

Xiaomi actually sells a bunch of under-sink purifier versions, and I honestly don’t know which model I got — probably the 400G one, the single-filter version.

The Mi Home Security Camera

Just moved, and there’s not usually anyone home, so I figured I needed a camera to keep an eye on things. Looked around for a while and ended up going with a Mi Home product.

I bought what should be the entry-level model. Apparently it doesn’t support microSD storage — you can only view it remotely.

Replacing the Battery in a PSV 1000

I’ve had this PSV 1000 for I don’t even know how long now — probably 8-plus years. Officially it’s been abandoned, but I picked it up again recently.

And found the battery seems to be shot.

Sony says the PSV battery isn’t replaceable, but swapping it is still dead simple. I remember Sony even put out battery replacement instructions for the PSV 2000 later on.
