There are a few ways to type kaomoji on Ubuntu. Let’s start with input methods — Fcitx’s “Jiong Lian” input method has a fairly unique approach to kaomoji.
You can install a standalone table:
sudo apt install fcitx-table-emoji
ANGRYsearch is a knockoff wheel of the Windows search tool Everything.
Sayonara Player is a cross-platform music player with Linux support. The name is the Japanese さよなら — sayonara, goodbye, you get it. The dev isn’t Japanese, no idea why he picked it. Probably thought it sounded cool.
Installing it is easy. PPA works, or just grab the DEB.
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:lucioc/sayonara
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install sayonara
Deadbeef is good software, and it already has its own PPA on Ubuntu 16.04.1
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:starws-box/deadbeef-player
sudo apt update
sudo install deadbeef
I picked up a cheap colorimeter, so I figured I’d try using it under Linux. I expected no software support or a whole lot of hassle, but it turned out way simpler than I imagined.
DisplayCAL is the calibration software that supports Linux, and you just download it from the official site.
