Fedora 40 Installation and Configuration Guide
This article has been updated for Fedora 42: /archives/14050/
But this article is still worth reading — check out the ideas in here first, then go look at the updated steps
Longtime readers of my blog probably know I used to be a loyal Ubuntu user, running GNOME Shell, and I enjoyed poking fun at irrational KDE and Arch Linux users. Of course, back in 2021 I actually started migrating my main distro from Ubuntu to Fedora — at first it was just “let’s try it out,” but one thing led to another and I’ve been using it ever since.
So here’s this guide/manual thing. Its main purpose is to help people who have no idea how to install, use, or configure Fedora, to clear up their confusion, and to share some of my own experience in the hope it helps more people.
Of course I’ve got a selfish reason too: recording my own configuration process so I can look it up later.
