Skin

dBrand Skin for the Nintendo Switch

When the Nintendo Switch first came out, people were already asking dBrand whether they’d make a skin for it. dBrand’s answer: “Can’t do it.” The reason was that the adhesive would damage the soft-touch coating on the Switch, so they didn’t recommend skinning it. Then, more than half a year later, dBrand suddenly announced they’d developed a new adhesive — and now they could offer a skin for the Switch. I bought one on launch day and tested it out. Not bad at all.

OnePlus 5 and Sony XZP Skins

Both my phone cases kicked the bucket recently, so skins are the stopgap. For the OnePlus 5 the obvious pick was dBrand. Buy one and they throw in a second, on the theory that you’ll need it after you fuck up the first application…

I skinned my Google Pixel C keyboard cover with... leather?

Pointless, restless tinkering — I had some of that “carbon fiber” sticker sheet lying around (I honestly doubt it’s real carbon fiber). Searched online and the method looks simple, but it’s also a pain. First cut out a rough size, then trim bit by bit with a sharp utility knife.
